A couple of words about myself and how this website began:
I started riding bikes at the age of 9 of which was mainly trailriding. Got into freestyle bmx then laid off a few years due to injuries and finances, then picked it up again about 2 years ago. Currently I'm employed as an Oracle DBA which, with the help of friends and loved ones, helps finance my racing habits.
Back to this website... Well this thing has changed so many times since it started in 2001. The nuts and bolts of www.11000rpm.com are put together on a frequent basis by a combination of things. First would be the photos. My good friend Charles is mostly responsible for that. That started by accident a few years back as he was already taken photos for his own website which is not MX/bike related. Anyway he came to the track with me one day and next thing you know, it became a weekly thing. The next thing is the riding. Opinions vary on this. I'm the primary rider but that's not necessarily by choice. That is just the way things turned out. There are riders on this site from all over the world but for the most part it's our local scene in North Texas. Now comes the important piece. This website is not to be taking seriously. This is a way for me to share MX with those that share similar interests. Yes I do advertise my racing on here and that includes my sponsors but I figure I owe that to them for their support. I've read some really interesting comments on the net regarding this website in the past year. Everyone is entitled to their own opinion as am I. My opinion of this sport is that it is the single greatest sport in the world. This website is dedicated to that opinion.
I have been really fortunate but that has it's price as well. The site is rider owned, rider maintained, developed, produced, etc. Charles has been more than gracious allowing me to host this on his own webserver free of charge. If you knew what he paid in network/connectivity charges it'd make your jaw drop. Being financed and driven by us it's difficult to make frequent updates. I ride 3 to 4 times a week, hold down a full time job outside MX, and have a million other things going. My point is this site should be viewed with a sense of humor as well as respect. It is not easy work but what we do, we do with pride. Take it with a grain of salt. Laugh at our endeavors and cheer our successes. I am human. Just another average Joe with an insatiable appetite for MX.
MX IS the greatest sport in the world. It's for that reason this page exists. I have met some really awesome people, had some really great rides (and good crashes). What better way to share it? So with that in mind feel free to drop me a line and tell me what you think. You can reach me here... aremkus@comcast.net
Well, that's all for now. Be safe and I'll see ya at the track!
